About
Overcoming cultural barriers and providing financial assistance to create a legal pathway to citizenship through the GENEROSITY of others
STORYTELLING
Through storytelling, immigrants and immigrant children can share their experiences and journeys to foster empathy, challenge stereotypes and misconceptions, and bridge cultural divides. Immigrant stories have the power to advocate for change, inspire others on their journey, and preserve cultural history. Capturing immigrant narratives allows us to understand the power of storytelling. Visit our Story Campaign!
FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
Eye of An Immigrant offers grants to fund United States Customs and Immigration Services applications filing fees. Many immigrants face financial barriers when arriving to the United States including limited financial resources, limited access to financial services, a language and cultural barriers, and disaccreditation of credentials and educational degrees. To help create a strong foundation and provide a legal pathway to citizenship, these grants fund costly immigrant fees. Grant applications open December 2023.
RESOURCE ASSISTANCE
To help ensure immigrants and overcome their challenges and barriers, Eye of An Immigrant provides connections to other resources available to access. By helping connect to a range of services and support, resource assistance allows to help with a successful path of citizenship while fostering inclusive communities.

OUR HISTORY
Eye of An Immigrant was formed in 2020 as a storytelling campaign by Komalpreet Kaur as a junior in high school. With the initial goal of only sharing immigrant stories in Kansas City, Eye of An Immigrant grew to become a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization to support families in their entire immigration legal process. "They have no idea what it's like
to lose home at the risk of
never finding home again
to have your entire life
spilt between two lands and
become the bridge between two countries"
- Rupi Kaur
